Tension Pulley

The tension pulley is a follow-up pulley pressed on the belt in order to change the angle of the belt pulley or control the tension of the belt. It is a belt driven tensioning device. When the center distance of the belt cannot be adjusted, the belt can be tensioned by the tensioning pulley.
Working Principle
The tension pulley is a belt driven tension device. When the center distance of the belt cannot be adjusted, it can be used to tension the belt. The tension pulley is a follow-up pulley pressed on the belt in order to change the angle of the belt pulley or control the tension of the belt. It is a tension device of belt drive.
The pulley is driven by friction, and the belt must be tensioned during installation. But after working for a period of time, it is stretched loose and easy to slip, so it must be re tensioned. If the center distance between the two driving wheels cannot be adjusted, the tensioning wheel must be used to ensure normal transmission without slipping. The tension pulley uses spring or oil pressure to produce a tension force for the belt, so that the belt can be pressed on the working pulley with appropriate pressure.

The tension of the tension pulley should not be too small, which will reduce the friction between the belt and the working pulley, and eventually lead to the belt slipping. Similarly, the tension of the tension pulley should not be too large. Too large tension will increase the load of the belt and cause damage to the belt and the bearing of the working pulley.
Generally, the tensioning wheel should be placed inside the loose edge, so that the belt is only subject to one-way bending. At the same time, it should also be close to the big wheel as far as possible, so as not to excessively affect the wrap angle of the small pulley. If the tensioning wheel is placed outside the loose side, it should be close to the small pulley as far as possible. The groove size of the tension pulley is the same as that of the pulley, and its diameter is smaller than that of the small pulley.
